Book Design: Wright Wons Project

For this book design project, the client Wright Wons had a particular vision in mind. She sent me plenty of samples and reference images for her cover design, and she frequently shared detailed thoughts and feedback about the page design. Her book is a non-fiction story discussing her loss and the ways she focused on God to help her heal.

For the cover design, she wanted something showcasing a gradation of light. It could be an abstract design or a design that utilizes a photograph with clouds or a sunset. Per her agreement with the publisher, I created three samples, and the following images showcase her final choice.

For the page design, Wright Wons wanted a spacious and friendly design for note-takers who may purchase her book. She also had several photographs for me to lay out on the pages.

This was probably one of the most interactive projects I’ve had with a client at Trilogy. I’m happy to say it was a positive experience! Wright Wons was good at communicating her desires for the design and was willing to hear my thoughts on potential changes to her ideas during the editing process. By the time the project was complete and signed off, I felt particularly proud of our final product.
