The Design Briefing
For this project, I was a part of a two-man design team. While my fellow designer was Dawson Presley, I operated as the art director on this team. Together, we answered to our graphic design professor Jason Howell who supervised our work and our communication with the client.
During our briefing, the client explained that they wanted my team to create a design that reflects the idea of infinity. The show would be presenting a variety of segments from their senior students. Therefore, the client wanted their advertising material to connect with the vastness of God and his creativity. They also wanted a hopeful atmosphere for the show. Furthermore, we needed to use at least one photograph the performing arts department could provide from their photographer’s work.
As the art director, I was in charge of contacting the photographer to get these photos. I also directly updated Howell on our progress.
Conceptualization
The following pdf contains the thumbnail sketches I created for this project.
Using both our sketches, Presley and I created some samples of potential solutions that we would go on to share with the client. They gave us feedback on which solution they liked the most. Then they suggested some changes and improvements they wanted to see in future drafts. We also held critiques with our professor and fellow designers. With these sources of feedback alongside our personal artistic direction, we were able to create the final design composition.
Final Design
